The meals at my new home have been fantastic lately. That dumpling must have been a fluke. Tonight we had a salmon onion quiche with fresh melon bites. Brunch was ham, squash, scalloped potatoes and strawberries with whip cream. Salmon and cod weekly, fresh watermelon, seasonal squash, shrimp, chicken baked and BBQ, seriously good food.
Just took getting used to from meals that were sometimes just celery and peanut butter or Cheerios. Tofu won’t be on the menu, but I will survive.
The sandwiches are still too big, but I see that the natives just cut them into pieces. The chef is a big man, sooo…
Really there is more food than we can eat and my better half is still recovering from her last “event,” now DX of costochondritis---fun. (not)
She is eating a bit more each day, but I worry. We still are learning how to survive here and get out of the social security disability application maze that she is trapped in.
I got my power chair onto balcony for first time and drank the sun’s D. But, this being Seattle, we are back to rain and clouds. It was fun to watch the boats and seaplanes. If I were a millionaire I wouldn’t have a care! Hmmm, true for most of us, eh?
I grew up believing that America would take care of me if I worked hard…yeah, right. Feel pretty lonely now, over-whelmed by my MS and my partner’s poor health---it wasn’t supposed to be like this; I had a plan. I had a plan. Damn.
Delicious garlic bread with raisin-sugar topping on ham for dinner.
