Guess the Car. Chicago Cowboy in Fort Wayne

This is my Uncle Arthur, Aunt Violet's big brother. He lived in big city Chicago and his visits were always big deals. Once he paid cash for a new Cadillac, giving the small city-Fort Wayne car salesman quite a thrill. I loved to watch him work his money magic.
He always paid for meals out. He always dressed snazzy. He lied about his age to fight the Nazi troops when he was 15, and was a "self-made man," starting his own wood-working business, followed by purchasing properties in Chicago. His tough guy exterior held him up for comparisons to Spencer Tracy and eventually he found his own tough lady, Katherine Hepburn in a smart and classy Sadie. Sadie and Art, till death did they part. A fun-loving pair, I loved being around them.
And they loved kids. In photo he is playing with my brother. His sense of humor was notorious.
Can you guess what make and year that new car of his was?
